The Dora's Best Friends Picnic at SM Megamall

There's must be really something about Dora the Explorer why little girls love her so much. And at the recently concluded Nickelodeon's Dora's Best Friends Picnic, which happened at the Event Center of SM Megamall, about a hundred of little girls and boys, plus their parents, went crazy upon seeing Dora and her best friends.

Little Nicksters aged 2-7, like my nieces Elaisha and Nickaella, had a great time learning and playing with their fellow Dora the Explorer fans at this one-day event at SM Megamall. An afternoon filled with games and freebies, Dora's Best Friends Picnic shared one exciting and thrilling afternoon not only to the kids who came, but also to their parents and guardians who accompanied them.

They say parenting is one tough job - bet, I couldn't agree more. Having one kid is already a challenge, but two - oh, it's like a suicide. Hahaha! I thought my little nieces would be very shy going around, but the moment we stepped in, oh, I immediately went gaga looking out for them.

KakaoTalk celebrates Philippine Artistry with Yahoo! Celebrity Awards 2014

When I went last week to witness the most awaited awarding night of Yahoo! to Philippines most in-demand and love celebrities, one thing that brought smile to hundreds of attendees, including me, the presence of our favorite characters from KakaoTalk.

Currently has more than 150 million registered users from 230 countries, and billions of messages are delivered every day in form of text, photos, video and voice, KakaoTalk  along with the official Yahoo website, served as one of the main fan-voting platforms for the 2014 Yahoo! Celebrity Awards, as the free, fast and fun messenger app replaced SMS as the primary mobile channel for fans to voice their opinions.

SM Mall of Asia Arena hosted The Yahoo! Celebrity Awards, an online award-giving project, which registered a total of 1,336,929 fans voted using KakaoTalk, showing a nearly 276% increase compared to last year’s SMS voting figures.

Watch and Listen with Philips 2014 Collection

They say the reason why Filipinos are good in singing and good in speaking different languages is the diversity of our culture. But I think more than being culturally diverse and having that innate talent of adapting our environment, we, Filipinos, have the ‘ears’ that captures every sound, message and even noise carefully.

The reason why I’m telling or sharing this is because on the recent launch of Philips’ high-end TV and audio technology, we were tested – or should I say, our ears were tested to determine or classify the kind of sound shared to us.

Nova Villa and Freddie Webb return2014 Cinemalaya Film Festival on screen with 1st Ko si 3rd

A story of a 60-year-old Filipina who takes a leap in life by reigniting an old flame in a story that would give an interestingly different look at love. A must see on the upcoming 2014 Cinemalaya Film Festival, Nova Villa and Freddie Webb plays onscreen sweet heart on Real Florido's 1st Ko Si 3rd.

An entry to 2014 Cinemalaya Film Festival, Florido shares a story of  "What If" through a movie of second chances, which is led by Cory Gonzales, which is played by veteran comedienne Ms. Nova Villa and Third Rodriguez, which is played by Mr. Freddie Webb.

When you retire and fate gives you a chance to pursue your first love, would you? For the first time in years the duo brings back to life their chemistry in cinemas by reliving their love team. This time however the comic antics are tamed to a level of serious but light depiction of sensible situations.

McJim's Dreams Get Real: Why a Triple Tie?

Last Monday night, I went to Teatrino in Promenade, Greenhills, San Juan City to witness the most anticipating and exciting awards night of the first McJim Classic Leather's "Dreams Get Real: The Search for the Next OPM Star."

It has been months since the brand spearheaded this contest that aims to promote Original Pilipino Music (OPM) as well as to inspire young and talented musical acts all over the Philippines. From hundreds of aspiring young talents, the number of contestants was trimmed to down six, where each of them performed  in front of a live audience that night.

I must say that I didn't expect the songs to be like that. Each song has its own charm, catchy beat and overflowing of OPM goodness that any Pinoy would love. And so, without further ado, the finalist of the "Dreams Get Real: The Search for the Next OPM Star" are musical band Archetype, solo performer CK Arca, Dream of Pearl, Fifth Dynamics, vocal trio JBK and another solo performer Neo Domingo.

SM Kids’ Fashion Denim with Andrea Brillantes and Gimme5!

It's been a while since I covered something about fashion. I thought I already lost the mojo in covering runways shows, but when I saw these cute little kids walk the runway like they from some cycle of America's Next Top Model, I know that I have to capture every sway and stomp of their feet as they present the latest collection from SM Kids' Fashion Denim.

Last Saturday, I was invited by SM to see and meet their latest endorsers alongside their latest collection that features denim styles for any occasion.

In a real runway show, which was entitled Stand Out, TV drama sweetheart Andrea Brillantes and ABS-CBN's latest teen craze, Gimme5, led the cutest runway show of the season along with younger kids, boys and girls, ageing from 3 to 11 (I think) strut their way up to the runway.

Andrea, who starred on the popular show Annaliza, was the only rose among the thrones namely Joaquin Lucas Reyes, John Immanuel Bernardo, Grae Fernandez, and Brace Henry Arquiza of Gimme5. The four have hit it big as the hippest boy band in the country and are regulars of ABS-CBN's Sunday show, ASAP
