The Search is On for the Multiply Origination Awards
One of my most favorite platforms, the one that's behind why I'm so inspired and kinda addicted to blogging, Multiply.com, now open its first-ever Multiply Origination Awards. An award-giving body that aims to honors original products in the e-commerce space.
Being a thought leader in e-commerce in the Philippines, with a network of over 5.5 million users and 130,000 online stores across 16 product categories, Multiply now opens a new avenue for Filipino entrepreneurs to uphold that great standard in giving quality service and products to its growing patrons through Multiply's Origination Awards.
Throwing its support behind the creativity of the Filipino entrepreneur, and calls out to more aspiring entrepreneurs to come up with their own original ideas, Multiply's Origination Awards aims to gather the country’s best creative entrepreneurs to build a nation of top innovators offering original products.
And with three categories now open for nomination, Multiply's Origination Awards is in the hunt for the Most Original Fashion Forward Idea, Most Original Gourmand Idea and Most Original Mommy Management Idea.
Most Original Fashion Forward Idea is a category for online stores that have products that can be worn and/or used as an accessory. Those who may fit into this category are dress, shoes, jewelry, bags, other accessories, make-up, hair products, toiletries, etc.
While Most Original Gourmand Idea are products that are edible such as – food and/or beverage.
And lastly, the Most Original Mommy Management Idea are products that are used by moms in order to achieve better work-life balance may fit into this category. Such items can be baby / kid products, home décor, household items, etc.
The nomination for Multiply Origination Awards starts today, October 16, 2012 to November 11, 2012, 11:59 p.m. A person may nominate his/her own original product as long as it passes the rules of eligibility and a person may nominate an original product of another Multiply merchant or business as long as it passes the rules of eligibility. Just check out the Origination website http://origination.multiply.com for the complete details. The screening period for all the entries submitted will start on November 12, 2012 and it will end on November 19, 2012. Shortlisted finalists will be announced on November 12, 2012.
The judging will take place on November 20 to December 20, 2012, which will be composed of Origination Panel of Judges composed of five (5) respected business and lifestyle leaders will screen all finalists per award category. They will be given two (2) weeks to deliberate and review each of the finalists’ original product ideas, November 20 until 30, 2012. The Origination Panel of Judges will choose winners based on the set criteria for judging, and will constitute 90% of the final score for all the shortlisted nominees.
There will also be an Online Voting. All the finalists will also be subject to Public Online Voting during the two-week duration at the Origination website (http://origination.multiply.com). Online voting starts from November 20, 12:00 a.m. until December 20, 11:59 p.m. Anyone with or without a Multiply account can vote for as many original product ideas as they want for as many times as they can throughout the online voting period. These votes will constitute 30% of the final score for all shortlisted nominees.
As for the remaining 70%, 40% of the scores will comes from the Product Concept and Innovativeness, 15% on Perceived Value and 15% on Marketability.
The announcement of winners will take place on January 10, 2013. Winners will be announced online in the Origination website (http://origination.multiply.com). Winners will win a digital enhancement package worth Php 200,000 that may includes Online Store Enhancement: Site Customization, Online Store Promotions (Social Media promotions, Banner ads), Additional capital and Feature video.
