Watsons, Unilab and PSMID join hands to Fight Superbug

Last week as I attended one of the Philippine Society for Microbiology and Infectious' talks for their 33rd Annual Convention, one news that alarmed everyone, a news that no one is wishing to hear especially now that Christmas is just around the corner - Superbug is here.

A few months ago, on the launch of Unilab and Watsons' Compliance Pack, everyone was informed about this new deadly bug that is about to reach the Philippine shore. This is a deadly antibiotic-resistant bacteria and is currently incurable has been the center of the whole event asking everyone to be cautious and ready.

But on this 33rd Annual Convention, Dr. Celia C. Carlos, MD, FPIDSP, FPPS, FPSMID, Consultant in Pediatrics and Infectious Diseases discussed in her report on antimicrobial resistance in the Philippines that the first-ever NDM-1 positive case  was reported to them, and it seriously alarmed the audience.

Si Amapola sa 65 Kabanata Book Launch

Last Sunday's Ricky Lee's book launch was I guess the most attended and most star-studded book launch I've been too. And of course, where there are stars, I must be there! CHARING! Hahaha!

It was an afternoon of excitement, laughter and realization (to some) when everyone got a hold of the most anticipated 2nd novel of Ricky Lee, Si Amapola sa 65 Limang Kabanata.

I'm a fan of Mr. Ricky Lee since then, and I believe one way or another, we are all fans of Ricky Lee, some just don't know it yet. Hehe.

TOMS Celebrates the Season of Giving

As the spirit of Yuletide season succumbs the whole world, here in the Philippines, one shoe brand makes every day feels like Christmas for young children who doesn't have shoes nor slippers underneath their feet. Guys, It's TOMS One for One season!

Last week, I was invited to a very intimate dinner with guest bloggers and media personalities to witness how this young brand of shoe makes the lives of many children around the world healthier and happier.

They let us see how they are managing to achieve their goal through a series of videos, which for me are heart-warming and kinda tear-jerking. It just feel so good too see how people, foreign people, help these children of our poor country. And it just so great that individuals, people who are buying their stuff, TOMS shoes, are the ones behind this great endeavor. Unbelievable but true!

Slimmers World - Great Bodies 2011 Pre-pageant

As of this moment, they already awarded the winners of the Slimmers World Great Bodies 2011. But before we all learned who won, let me share to all of you first these pictures, my experience, on my first-ever coverage on this kind of competition. Believe me, it is more exciting to see in person that in pictures. Wahehe.

Last week, I was invited by Slimmers World to witness and to cover the pre-pegant ceremony that they'll have for this year's Great Bodies 2011 at EDSA Shangri-La in Mandaluyong City. And though, I know that I'll be intimidated by the contestants oozing sexiness, I braved in and see the show.

I do not know anything about this kind of competitions. I don't know if it is just like Miss Universe or Miss World, I really don't know. What I do know is that this contest is not just after some beautiful face, but also beautiful body, skin, hygiene and over all presence. I don't know if they'll be having a Question and Answer portion on the Finals night, but I hope that they'll have, so that we'll learn something from them.

So, anyway, since I'm really not that person to share some knowledge about this kind of things, I'll just share to you the pictures that I took during the pre-pageant show, and I do hope that you'll appreciate their effort in keeping their body fit, sexy and healthy.

ETON International School: The School of the Future

Not that I'm shy to admit that I'm a graduate of public school and university, but if given a chance, I would like to give myself a better school with better facilities because I know I'm good at studying and I know that I will excel better in studying and in life.

Good school, good facilities and good teachers - those are the top three characteristics that I observed when I was invited last week to check out ETON International School in Malate, Manila. And honestly, an invitation, which I thought would be boring turned out to be so fun and truly memorable.

Meeting Greyson Chance in Manila!

Today, I spent quite a Greyson Chance day. From his presscon to his first-ever concert here in the Philippines, I was there admiring him and really looking up to this 14-year-old boy who hails from the Oklahoma, U.S of A.

I know a lot of you would say that he is just another Justin Bieber, but what I saw tonight on his concert was different. He his a kid that has this unique talent and that is quite outstanding. No wonder, Ellen Degeneres had him on his show.

A few hours ago at the open park of Eastwood Mall in Libis, Quezon City, thousands of girls lined up and shrilled as this young boy shared his amazing talent that is just admirable.

Coca-Cola and Araneta Giant Christmas Tree Lighting 2011 Ceremony

For the second time, Coca-Cola and Araneta Center invited me to capture and enjoy the happiness of the upcoming Yuletide season with the switching on of the Christmas lights on the country's tallest Christmas tree! Folk, it's that time of the year again for the Coca-Cola and Araneta Giant Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony!

Just like last year, the event place was adorned with  stunning Coca-Cola designs that gave the whole place this wholistic Christmas-y spirit! There's the Coke-lover Santa Claus, who welcomed us to the venue, some Coca-cola photo stations, which were made by huge Coke bottles, then, there was also the Coke Music Bus that you can hop in to to see some Coca-Cola stories, some food stalls that shared some Christmas-y food, a drink stall that supplied Coca-Cola products to everyone, and lastly, the Giant Christmas Tree, which was the star of the night.

I arrived at the venue around 4 in the afternoon, an hour after the Coke Caravan started, so by that time, the parking lot where the Giant Christmas Tree is located was already full of media friends who were waiting for the artists from the Coke Caravan to arrive.
