TOMS Celebrates the Season of Giving

As the spirit of Yuletide season succumbs the whole world, here in the Philippines, one shoe brand makes every day feels like Christmas for young children who doesn't have shoes nor slippers underneath their feet. Guys, It's TOMS One for One season!

Last week, I was invited to a very intimate dinner with guest bloggers and media personalities to witness how this young brand of shoe makes the lives of many children around the world healthier and happier.

They let us see how they are managing to achieve their goal through a series of videos, which for me are heart-warming and kinda tear-jerking. It just feel so good too see how people, foreign people, help these children of our poor country. And it just so great that individuals, people who are buying their stuff, TOMS shoes, are the ones behind this great endeavor. Unbelievable but true!

I think, there's about three videos that we've got to see, and by that, it made me ask myself, how come I don't own a TOMS shoe? And so, because of this, i pledge that this coming Christmas, instead of buying some other shoes, I'll by myself a pair of TOMS shoes, so that I'll be able to give one to a child in need. :-)

I got a chance to check the pair of shoes that they are giving out, and in all fairness, I feel happy for those children who have already received one because the style, the durability and the heart that was put to make it is really, really good.

I just hope that there'll be more like me who will support their cause so that there'll be more children all over the globe who will receive these wonderful shoes.

And did you know that TOMS are not just into shoes, they are also into glasses now. And just like what they've started with the shoes, they also have this One for One Campaign for eye glasses.

On this campaign, they are holding medical mission to different towns looking for people who are having some eye disability. Once their doctors confirmed the need of glasses, they provide them with the necessary glasses for them live a normal life. This one too is a worldwide campaign, so every time you buy a pair of glasses, one person who is in need, receives one for free.

I got to see their cool glasses, and boy, I just love them!

Now, being cool for a cause is what we should do this coming Season of Gift Giving. :-)

And in line with this, they also shared to us their upcoming Give Fair event this coming December 4 at the 4th Level of Trinoma Mall.

This event will let you see and feel the real meaning of Christmas through a series of music, arts and crafts and sharing. So mark your calendars, and I'll see you all there, all right?

I also got a peek at their Spring-Summer 2012 Collection, and they just excite me! Wee!

For me, celebrating Christmas is useless if you don't know how to give. They say life is short, so might as well live it fruitfully with kind heart and humble mind.
