I got a chance to attend the media launch of Canon last day at the Blue Leaf Pavillion in McKinley Hill. First, I’m so eager to attend this gathering because I’m looking for camera. I’m on a budget but I’m looking for good camera that will help me enhance my blogging activities. And according to some friends, Canon is the best choice for this budgeted hobby.
As I enter the hall, I was amazed by the nice design of the said gathering –Japanese style. And then it dawns upon me why the event was titled “Risshun”, the Japanese word for the start of Spring. It was so refreshing, so wonderful, a nice cliché to what this event was for.
As the season of Spring starts, Canon introduces their new President and CEO, Mr. Alan Chng. A former vice president for business imaging solutions of Canon Singapore and now the newly appointed president and CEO of Canon Marketing Philippines, Inc, Mr. Chng is married to a Filipino, so I think he knows what Filipino likes, most especially when it comes to photography.

Canon Philippines also introduces their new head office. To better serve its customers and partners, Canon Marketing Philippines, Inc. (CMPI) has relocated to a new office at the seventh floor of Commerce and Industry Plaza, Campus corner Park Avenues, McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
I’ve been to their old office, and I can say that this is a big leap for the company, just right to upgrade the image since Canon is the leading camera brand in the country now.
And now, my most favourite part of this gathering, the launching of their new models. Again, I’m on a budget, I need a camera that will somehow suffice my need for picture taking, but when I saw their new models…. Oh, GOD! Santa Clause, please hear my wishes now!
Here are my favourites:

14.1 megapixels, 14x optical zoom, 3.0” wide purecolor LCD 11 G, Digic 4 image processor, smart auto for stills and movies, smart flash exposure and stereo sound compatible HD movies.

14.1 megapixels, 28mm wide-angle lens, ultra-slim at just 17.8mm, smart auto + smart exposure, HD movies _ HDMI connector, low light mode, smart shutter and with new effects like fish-eye mode and miniature effect. I LOVE THIS ONE SUPER!
And lastly, if I even I win in a lottery I’ll buy this one.
Canon EOS 550D – Price: Coming Soon
High image quality with 18 megapixel CMOS sensor, Digic 4 imaging processor, normal ISO speed of 100-6400 (Canon’s first entry model with normal ISO speed of 6400), high speed, high precision, 9-pint AF, 3.7 FPS, continous shooting, Canon’s first entry model with 63-zone metering, live view shooting in all shooting modes, including full auto mode, enhanced (full HD EOS movie recording and playback function (Full HD: 30/25/24 FPS, HD/SD: 60/50 FPS), EOS movie crop function, wide (3:2) 3.0-inch LCD monitor with (1.04 million dots), lens peripheral illumination correction, compatible with next generation SD and SDXC, EOS integrated cleaning system. I’m no pro with cameras, especially DSLR, but with these a lot of specs, I must that this is great. :-)
How I really wish that Santa hears me out, I badly needed a camera. Hehehe.
Canon also presented their new line of printers that I finds so styling and quite affordable.
The Canon PIXMA printers MP258, MX347 and iP2770 will be available in stores starting March 2010.
And as part of the tradition, Cannon raffled off some prices to their media friends, including bloggers like us, and here are the winners:
And here are my fellow bloggers who also bagged some prizes.

Now, I'm in love with Canon.
Canon really delighted me.
And hopefully, soon, I’ll have my first Canon camera.
