Star Movies Marathon 2010

Do you love watching movies? Do you love watching it in a cold dark movie house where no one will disturb you and no one will make any noise or whatsoever? How about doing a movie marathon and at the end you'll take home Php100,000.00?

Well, that's what these movie fanatics took home when the Star Movies Movie Marathon took place at Newport Cinema Resorts last November 9, 2010. A hundred of pre-qualified participants gathered at Newport Cinema as early as 9:00 a.m. for a movie marathon that they will never forget for the rest of their lives. Hahaha!

I got a copy of the Rules and Regulations of this contest, and here they are:

1. No standing.
2. No talking.
3. No sleeping.
4. No phone use call or text.
5. No public bowel movements.
6. Star Movies Marathon jacket must be worn
7. No stretching.
8. No additional food.

So simple, right?

And since, I was busy that morning and didn't got a chance to take an early peek at the participants, on how many are they and what they look like, I didn't have any idea who will last and who will go home with a sleepy head. Heheh.

But later that night, at around 10 p.m., 13 hours after the movie marathon started, I dropped by there and I was really amazed when I learned that there are still 40 participants who are still vying for the title and the cash prize.

The winner of this contest will also be named as the Star Movies First-Ever Movie Marathoner. Hehe.

The food that the participants ate during the event were all provided by the Star Movies team, and as far as I know, the participants had some pizza that day, a glass of iced tea, a bottle of mineral water and during the time that I was there I saw them having a bottle of Minute Maid Orange Drink and an ice cream. A FREAKING ICE CREAM! Hahahahahaha!

I heard that the movies that were shown early that day were Ironman, the 3D-animated trilogy of Shrek, old-time classic collection of The Godfather, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Transformers, and when I dropped by there, I saw them watching G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra, and I heard that they still one more to finally call it a night, Star Trek.

And since, I think that none of those 40 who were left gave up, I believe they split the prize and the title among themselves. LOL.

Thank you, Star Movies. This is one great idea! I hope there's year two for this event!
