Marriott Hotel Manila's Christmas Tree Lighting
"'Tis the most wonderful time of the year!"
Just as the old Christmas song goes, it is indeed the most wonderful time of the year. Everything seems so bright and colorful and so jolly. And I know that we can feel the Christmas air even inside our bedrooms, so I guess it is just right to say that it is already Christmas in our country! Wee!
And just last week, I was invited to partake at the star-studded Christmas Tree Lighting event of Marriott Hotel Manila.
Hosted by Mr. Tim Yap, the event was attended by two of the siblings of the Royal Family of Philippines Showbiz, Ruffa Gutierrez and Richard Guttierrez, together with Phoemela Barranda, Miss Cory Quirino, Laarni Lozada of Pinoy Dream Academy, Pasay City Mayor Antonio Calixto and Marriott Hotel Manila General Manager Richard Saul.
But before I let you guys witness this star-studded event, let me share to you first the story behind this event that will surely touch your heart.
Did you know that this generous shining event is in support for Habitat for Humanity? This small step of Marriott Hotel Manila aims to build decent homes for our "kababayans" by next year. And with the help of your Php200.00, which is the cost of every Christmas ball that you will hang to Marriott Hotel Manila's Christmas Tree, giving a gift of joy to our homeless "kababayans" is a simple but very awarding gift that you can share to them.
Most of the gift giving really happens during this time of the year, and I think with all the gifts, may it be in kind or in cash, that we are receiving or we will be receiving, it is just rightful to share some of that to those unfortunate people. "Para lahat happy!"
And, so, with the time that these hot celebrities shared to this momentous event, I think they deserve a good "clap-clap" from all of us for sharing their time and helping Marriott Hotel Manila promote this good cause.
And so, before the main event, which is the Christmas Tree Lighting, everyone, invited guests and media, were treated to a delightful night will the sweet treat that were displayed and ready to eat at the lobby of the hotel.

There was also a presentation from the Resorts World Manila Acrobats, which wowed all the spectators.
And after that, Laarni Lozada rendered some Christmas song to lighten up the mood and for everybody to feel the Christmas-y atmosphere in the hotel.
Then, the most awaited part happened. Together with Mr. Richard, Mayor Calixto, Ruffa, Richard, Miss Cory and Pheomela, they all gathered around the Christmas Tree and shared their gifts of love by hanging some Christmas balls at this very tall tree, while on the other side of the lobby, Laarni keeps singing some Christmas songs as the background to this nice event. Wonderful!
Tm Yap also kept the spirit up with his funny antics that the crowd enjoyed.
As for me, I'm happy to be with my good friends on this kind of delightful events.
This is one event that I got to enjoy this month.
