BGC Food Tour: Trio Restaurant

We’re down to the last leg of the Bonifacio Global City Food Tour. We’re still with Mr. Ivan Man Dy of www.oldmanilawalks.com, and this time, he took us to The Fort Strip – the metro’s prime location for gimmicks and night-out parties.

Mr. Ivan Man Dy

The Fort Strip is best known for the outstanding clubs and lounges, but did you know that The Fort Strip also holds some authentic and cosy restaurants that are perfect for groups and family. Thus, BGC Food Tour took us to one of The Fort Strip’s hidden treasure – Trio Restaurant.

Trio Restaurant at The Fort Strip

With a very classy interior, this restaurant located at the second level of The Fort Strip integrates the concept of modern Italian bistro, pizzeria and wine bar. Trio Restaurant specializes in classic Italian entrees, authentic thin crust pizzas, homemade pastas and freshly made desserts. They also offer a wide selection of wines from both the old and new world. The contemporary and stylish interiors complement the dining experience in Trio.

On our visit to this elegant metropolitan’s Italian restaurant, they prepared three scrummy dishes that were very hard to resist.

First dish, Cannelloni Pasta.

Cannelloni Pasta

Topped with béchamel crème sauce and parmesan, this delicious oven baked cannelloni was really a must-try. The beef and spinach stuffing blended really well with the sauce, I love how this dish really melted in my mouth. Everything was so tasteful that kept me digging in. The sauce was thick which was perfect for the easy-to-eat cannelloni.

Next dish, Osso Buco with Portobello Risotto.

Osso Buco with Portobello Risotto

It is indeed a risotto day, and I loved it! The risotto was deli, I love how it brought up the taste of the meat. The tender meat was cooked perfectly absorbing the sauce and the spices that gave a perfect balance to this whole dish. I dunno how much was this dish, but I’m very sure that if I have time and money, I’ll return to Trio just for this dish.

The third and last dish of the day, and the crowd’s favourite was Capricciosa Pizza.

Capricciosa Pizza

It was my first time to try pizza with slices hardboiled egg on top of it, and to be honest, I liked it! As well as the others too! Two thumbs up for this! The freshly oven-baked crispy thin crust added crunch to this the pizza. The typical pizza toppings on this pizza gave it an extra ordinary balance which is way the BGC Food Tourists loved it!

It was a great experience joining this food tour and dining in places like Trio. You’ll really get to know and find interesting food places you are not expecting to be really great.

Thanks Trio!
Till my next BGC Food Tour blog!

Happy eating!
