BGC Food Tour: Cupcakes by Sonja and Miss Desserts

Our first stop for the Bonifacio Global City 2010 Food Tour was Cupcakes by Sonja and Miss Dessert.

First and foremost, I’d like to inform you all that I’m a fan of Sonja’s, so if you think that I’m bias to what I’m saying here in my blog, well, I don’t care. Hahaha! I really like Sonja’s Cupcakes.

Cupcakes by Sonja (not Sonya)  is one of Spot.ph’s Golden Spoon awardees, and I’m glad that it was our first stop to this food tour.

For appetizer, BGC Food Tour treated us to some delicious mini cupcakes (two thumbs up!) from Sonja’s. Five mouth-watering flavours were presented to us as part of this food tour.

There was Vanilla Sunshine - a classic and fluffy yellow cupcake topped with vanilla butter cream.

There was also Chocolate Overload - a rich, moist Valrhona chocolate cupcake filled with creamy ganache and topped with velvety chocolate cream.

And then, there’s Melt-In-Your-Mouth Flourless Chocolate Cupcake – a dense Valrhona flourless chocolate with rich, velvety texture dissolved in your mouth with pure sublime flavour.

And also Choco Cream Pie – a rich, luscious Belgian chocolate cream in Oreo crust and topped with mouthful of whipped cream and sprinkled with Oreo bits.

And lastly, my favourite from the selection, the Red Velvet Vixen – a traditional southern cupcake made with Belgian cocoa and cream cheese icing.

What I liked the most about this cupcake is that when you order this, a part of the sales that Sonja’s will gather from it will go directly to Philippine National Red Cross, thus, they colored it red.

On the other hand, Miss Desserts offered us three of their most luscious pastries.

Miss Dessert at Serendra

First, the Almond Espresso Cheesecake – a creamy cheesecake with just the right taste of coffee and caramel all complimented by almonds.

Second, the Butter Cake - a melt-in-your mouth butter cake that is good on its own or slightly warmed with a scoop of your favourite ice cream.

And lastly, Ultimate Brownies – rich chocolate brownies with a generous amount of walnut and semi-sweet chocolate chips then drizzled with just a touch a touch of caramel on top to make it the ultimate brownie.

This pastry was my most favourite among the three.

So if you wanna have some coffee or tea time with you pals, or just wanna satisfy your craving for sweets, I recommend to you these two dessert havens that you can find in Serendra at Bonifacio Global City.

Til my next blog about this wonderful and tummy-filling BGC Food Tour!

Happy eating!
