Century Corned Tuna Cook-off – Bloggers’ Edition

I was surprised when I got an invite to join this event.

First, I didn’t know how they got my e-mail address and second, I didn’t know how to cook. (Oh, well, I know some tricks, but I’m not that good.)

Bu then, I took the challenge, I’ve been a fan of Iron Chef for quite a while and being one of the chefs or the sous-chef, or BETTER, be one of the judges is really one of my dreams.

And now that I’ve been given an opportunity to show some “skills”, honestly, I’m so nervous! Hahaha!

Held at the very nice place of The Stock Market at Bonifacio High Street, The Fort, Taguig, this cook off challenge was specially prepared for bloggers ONLY.

Upon arriving at the venue, I was warmly welcomed by the nice people from Rogue Digital and Century Philippines.

We were asked to have a quick bite then prepped us for the said cook-off match.

I’m glad that I’m not the only wanna-be who had the courage to accept the said challenge. Though, a lot of us really knew how to cook, since this is an Iron Chef kinda stuff, the ingredients that we can use were the only ones that they chose for us. And of course, just like in Iron Chef, we had our base ingredient, and for this event, it’s none other than Century Corned Tuna.

The ingredients

I was teamed with Sire, Karla, Melo, Fran and her hubby, Paolo. There are six members per team. And each team has 45 minutes to prepare two dishes, one a pasta dish and the other one was anything that we want.

It was so fun, really. The excitement in every team was so obvious when the hosts, Chef Rosebud Benitez and JM Rodriguez announced the start of the game.

Our team prepared a tuna canapés and tuna pasta aglio.

While the other team prepared Tuna Pasta with Spinach, Asparagus, Almonds and Miso. and Tuna Quesadilla.

Judged by Mr. Ariel Comia, Doc Gelo and the Century Tuna Superbod winners, after some minutes of tasting and discussing each dish, the challenge has finally come to an end.

We didn’t win, but our team was still happy, that’s because our dishes somehow came out well. (Honestly, I love the color of our dishes, looks so healthy. Heheh.)

The winning team got 10,000 bucks while our team got some goodies as consolation prize. (Thanks! My mom loves the Bangus Gourmet!)

Many thanks to Rogue Digital, Century Philippines, most especially to our guide chef, and to all the bloggers whom I’ve met there for the first time. It was so nice to meet new people who share the same interest as yours.

After the tiring yet super fun activity, we were treated to a sumptuous and healthy dinner courtesy of The Stock Market. I loooooove their pasta! It was really, really good! And guiltless! Hahaha! Feel free to visit their place at BHS.

I hope there will be next time! ;-)
